NZ Rocketry Challenge '16

Boot Camp

> LAST MINUTE INFO for Boot Camp attendees <

To kick off the 2016 season of the NZ Rocketry Challenge, we're holding a two-day Rocketry Boot camp during the September school holidays. This is targeted at teachers and students who want to want to get hands-on training on how to make the best rocket.

It'll be a fun two-day event, led by the experts at Aerospace Education, and thanks to the generous support of Massey University and Albany Junior High School, it's completely free!

  • Up to 100 students in teams of four (priority given to year 7 students)
  • Up to 50 teachers
  • Hands-on experience designing, building and flying a rocket
  • Breakout sessions for teachers

Students will work in teams of four, to build a model rocket from scratch. They'll be guided through the science and art of making the perfect rocket, rocket safety, and given tips on how to prepare for the national contest. The boot camp will culminate with a mini-contest to see which student rocket reaches the highest altitude!
